Hawzah News Agency- Shaykh al-Saduq narrated from his father, from Sa’ed ibn Abdullah, from Yaqoob ibn Yazid, from Ibn Mahboob, from Ali ibn al-Hussein ibn Ribat who linked it up to a man who complained to the Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali (pbuh) about his needs. Imam Ali (pbuh) replied:
اِعْلَمْ أَنَّ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ تُصِيبُهُ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا فَوْقَ قُوتِكَ، فَإِنَّمَا أَنْتَ فِيهِ خَازِنٌ لِغَيْرِكَ.
Know that whatever you acquire from this world beyond your daily need, you are merely keeping it in trust for someone else.
